
The Faculty of Education at is one of the largest Faculties of Education in Australia with over 5500 students and 140 academic and general staff. Led by the Dean of Education, Professor Toni Downes, we offer a wide range of courses in teacher education, information studies and human movement studies.
Our graduates are prepared for employment across Australia and beyond. In 2006 we had over 3000 Distance Education (DE) students from across Australia and 20 different countries, including more than 300 students studying in Hong Kong. We are recognized internationally for the quality and diversity of our DE programs. We provide on campus programs in the following Schools and Centres:
Murray School of Education
The Murray School of Education, based in Albury - Thurgoona, New South Wales, concentrates on teacher education programs in early education - across birth to five and primary years and in middle schooling - across the primary and secondary years, as well as servicing many of the Faculty's Distance Education Programs. We are featuring the work of the MSE in this initial showcase, showing its innovative programs and approaches.

The School of Education, based in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, concentrates on teacher education programs in primary and secondary teacher education including Technology and Applied Studies (TAS), Vocational Education and Training (VET) and), as well as servicing many of the Faculty's Distance Education Programs.

School of Information Studies
The School of Information Studies, based in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, conducts teaching and research in library and information management, teacher librarianship and related disciplines. At the Post Graduate level it offers specialist courses in Audiovisual Archiving, Information Literacy, Information Architecture, Information Organisation (HTML) or Information Organisation (PDF) and Information Management.

School of Human Movement Studies
The School of Human Movement Studies, based in Bathurst, New South Wales, graduates professionals to work in the areas of exercise science, rehabilitation, sports psychology, sports journalism, PDHPE teaching. The School of Human Movement Studies is also now offering a Master of Exercise Science (Rehabilitation) which will allow graduates to work in the allied health profession of exercise rehabilitation and to apply for a Medicare provider number. From 2008, students enrolling in our Bachelor of Education (PD/H/PE) will be able to choose to graduate as qualified teachers in two curriculum areas, This will give graduates an obvious employability advantage over most other physical education graduates.

Research Institute for Professional Practice, Learning and Education [RIPPLE]
RIPPLE is a multi-disciplinary research centre that conducts high-quality applied research and consultation in the field of professional practice and implications for professional learning and education. Within this broad rubric, central concerns are issues of epistemology, quality, responsibility and the development of intra and inter disciplinary communities of practice. Through its research and development work, the Institute enhances practice in a range of professions and fields including education, health and professional practice by influencing practice and practice education.
Centre for Indigenous Studies
The CIS in collaboration with all Faculty staff and the Executive has a charter that includes responsibility for the promotion of teaching and learning of Indigenous education at CSU. This is an exciting era for the University whereby indigenous staff housed within the Centre will have an opportunity to increase the universities profile on Indigenous research, teaching and learning for all students. The Director of the Centre for Indigenous Studies is Mr Gary Shipp.
